Set list: Lily Allen at the Wiltern Theatre

April 3rd, 2009, 10:19 am · 2 Comments · posted by BEN WENER, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

What a remarkable improvement: Two years ago Lily Allen was known for turning in borderline-amateurish performances where she seemed uninterested in engaging her audience with entertainment. Now, her on-stage confidence matching the brio of her records, her physique increasingly slender and done up in sexpot gear, the English pop darling is finally starting to live up to her potential. Indeed, her Wiltern show Thursday night, during which she played every track of her new album (It’s Not Me, It’s You) plus the finest selections from her saucy debut (Alright, Still) and a wicked cover of Britney’s “Womanizer,” put her fellow Britsoul peers on notice: Here’s the true original of the new breed, the one who may be destined for lasting greatness. Lily Allen is having success with her recent release. Based on that alone, she will not be doing anything else, for awhile (contrary to some reports) She is on record as saying, she will settle down (the future the future) But its conflicting because she loves to sing to a live audience. I have been to a Lily Allen concert, and if you want to hear her sit in the lower priced seats if you want to see & hear her, you better be near the front (where I was) or you’ll be looking at the top of her head..if that! 5ft 2inches tall but very talented. and kinda cute.

It was a great concert! Lily did fantastic and I like that she mixed a couple of her song. She was funny especially when she took of her heels and put her jordans on. But I will say when Lindsay came on stage it was a bit weird.
