With almost 50 years of songs in his back pocket, Bob Dylan certainly has the ability to mix it up from night to night. Sure, you’ll get a decent serving of classic songs at most shows, like “Highway 61 Revisited” or “Like a Rolling Stone.” And you’ll always get tracks off his recent, critically acclaimed albums, such as 2006’s Modern Times. But there’s always the chance he’ll pull something seldom heard out of his pocket and dust it off for the night.
So the die-hard fans always want to know, ‘What did Bob play?’ And the die-hardiest track the stats from show-to-show. Which is how we can tell you that at his rockin’ good show in Santa Monica on Wednesday, the rare ones for his concerts this year included: “I Don’t Believe You (She Acts Like We Never Have Met),” played for the fourth time in 74 shows so far in 2008; “Mississippi,” played for the eighth time; and “Tryin’ to Get to Heaven,” played for the 12th time.
