What does it mean when Diana Ross sounds better belting the high notes of the Spiral Starecase’s one-shot “More Today Than Yesterday” than she does reaching for those of her own smashes? That four years after her triumphant return to live performing she’s already growing tired of the routine again? I dunno for sure. But if you’re interested in reading me ruminate on the matter, check out my review of Lady Supreme’s first of two shows at the Hollywood Bowl this weekend. Only care to know if she played “Endless Love”? Touch me in the morning and read on.

Ben,
Thanks for providing the set list! It was a great show! BTW, the song you have listed as “My Man” was actually “Fine And Mellow.”
i love la ross and her two shows were great! as for her voice cracking, i did not notice it and, she just finished a tour of europe, so, cut the diva a break.ross still has it, and the 17,000 fans each night was living proof of that!
I saw Diana at Wembley last year and I was spellbound! The place was packed with a mixture of younger and older poeple who seemed to know every word of her songs. This lady is the ultimate diva who is not only gracious to her audience but gives them what they want. 80 minutes of all her greatest hits while dressed head to toe in dazzling Bob Mackie gowns. Pure Diana Ross! I urge anyone who has not seen this legend in concert to indulge in tickets. You will not be disappointed!!..
I had the pleasure of attending this show as well. She is amazing! Diana Ross is a national treasure! That voice is thicker than it was when she was a girl –in the Supremes — still uniquely pitched and high but today she sings with natural texturized vocals -an element in most soul voices she sounds good and it’s not falsetto — at 64 you can’t touch her! Extraordinary Performance.
